Welcome to the photos page of Canada's greatest gift to country music (apart from Stompin' Tom, of course!)—Shania Twain!!
Born in Windsor, Ontario (you drive
south(!) from Detroit to get there!) as Eileen Regina Edwards, she changed her name
to Shania Twain upon moving to the small northern Ontario mining town of Timmins. Her step-father was a member of the Ojibway
nation whose surname was Twain, while Shania is an Ojibway word meaning "I'm on my way!".
As roads to stardom go, Shania's was relatively quick and the trip From small-town Ontario, to the Grand Ole Opry, to playing
in front of packed audiences in the world's biggest stadiums and arenas took the country music world, and the entertainment world
more generally, by storm. Bonnie closes the very popular
Country Queens Show with a
stirring medley of this country superstar's greatest hits. Believe us, it
will impress you much!!
