Well, what can you say about this woman that hasn't already been said (and written, and sung about)? She went from
being a coal miner's daughter to becoming the first lady of country music, and there's not much to dispute that!
Born in Butcher Hollow (pronounced "Holler!")—a poor, mining town in the Appalachians—and
married at the ripe old age of 13(!), she would eventually reach Nashville, becomes best friends with country legend
Patsy Cline, and go on to record some of the bigger country hits in the early 1960s.
It was only when she started to write her own music that Loretta took off along the road to superstardom. Though she
sang about the everyday joys and hardships of being a mother and wife. Who can forget classics songs such as
One's on the Way (...one of them a toddlin' and one is a crawlin' and one's on the way), or
Don't Come Home a Drinkin', with Lovin' on your Mind, or
You ain't Woman Enough to take my Man!".
No
Country Queens Show would be complete without some
Coal Miner's Daughter,
and
You're Lookin' at Couhtry. So, if you love classic country music, then
you've got to see Bonnie perform as Loretta Lynn. If you don't, you just may find yourself in
Fist City!
