PATSY CLINE

Born in 1932 in Winchester, Virginia, Patsy Cline (née Viriginia Patterson Hensley) had been performing music for nearly a decade when she had her breakthrough moment singing Walking After Midnight during a 1957 television appearance. Over the next six years she would grace the world with country classics such as Crazy, She's Got You, and Sweet Dreams. By the time Patsy met her untimely demise in 1963, she had done enough in her career to achieve iconic status, which she continues to have today.

If you're a romantic at heart, then you must be a Patsy Cline fan. Patsy sings about love gained, and eventually lost, and love never gained, and unrequited love (you get the picture), but her songs are as beautiful and touching today as they were when she first recorded them. In addition to the love songs, Patsy did sing a number of up-tempo numbers and she also paid tribute to her traditional roots when she recorded a stirring rendition of Closer Walk with Thee.
